Gibson Park Tree Planting

October 2023

In collaboration with Credit Valley Conservation (CVC), HNP hosted our first tree-planting event at Chris Gibson Park, Brampton. Our team successfully planted 100+ trees consisting of Hackberry, Red maple, White Birth, Smooth Rose, and Nine-bark tree species.  Thank you so much to our 40+ volunteers who came out and sponsors who supported our events, and a special thank you for Credit Valley Conservation for collaborating with us and an additonal thank you to Lights of All for sponsoring our event!

Interesting Facts About Chris Gibson Park.

  • Chris Gibson Park contains over 150 vascular plant species

  • Home to many severely endangered Monarch Butterflies and Butternut Plants

  • Contains 2 Hectares of forest that is home to the Credit River and Fletchers Creek.

  • It is a provincially recognized conservation home to over 200 biodiverse species

  • Has been a preserved space for over 200 years (since 1820s)
